We Strive to: 1. Promote and maintain a closer
relationship between the music educators of Columbia County, the New York
State School Music Association and the Music Educators’ National Conference. 2. Foster, improve and support the music
programs in the schools of Columbia County. 3. Encourage a closer relationship among
the music educators of Columbia County. 4. Offer an opportunity for outstanding
school musicians to appear in All-County Choirs, Bands and Orchestras on the
elementary, junior high, and senior high levels. 5. Encourage the appreciation of live
music. 6. Offer an educational program through
regular meetings which will be of benefit to all members. 7. Remain a non-profit
organization converting all money available into a program which shall aim to
advance music education. |

The CCMEA
is made up of music teachers in the six school districts of Columbia County:
Chatham,
Ichabod Crane,
Hudson,
New Lebanon,
Taconic Hills and
Germantown. We host annual All-County festivals for
promising young musicians in the County. Recommendations for these
festivals are made by participating teachers. Click
